In support of the Museum

It all began with an idea. A creative project where supporters can not only contribute, they can use their history, presence and personality, in sitting for the lens, becoming a long lasting part of a beautiful supporting publication.

As a teacher, principal, and assistant superintendent of student services, Navarro pushed for

women’s representation in school curriculums. “We’re 50% of the population, and only have .5%

representation in textbooks. Why were Hedy Lamarr’s contributions as a scientist and innovator

overlooked? Where were astrophysicists Kathryn Johnson and Mary Jackson in the discourse?

Our voices and role models have been suppressed. We must reframe and rewrite history to

include the contributions of women and minorities.”

~ Mary Navarro / Educator and Activist

Through the efforts and creative vision of our production team, we are allowing our subjects to come as they are. Let us do the work. We will provide concept imagery, along with example of work we’ve done thus far, offering you an idea of the direction we’re going. We are always open to suggestion and any creative ideas you have. Collaboration is the key to success.

All production costs will be covered by the team at Hugh Foster Photography/LBS and all proceeds from book sales will support the Women’s Legacy Museum.

Thank you in advance for considering participating in what will be a highly visible and impactful documentation of people making a difference here in our community.
